Absolutely perfect, magnificent location in Appledore, so close to pubs, 20 the Quay which is a good 8-10 minute walk away and the Sailors Rest. Plus, 10 minutes drive from Northam Burrows Country Park.

Improving signage for parking would be beneficial!!! More storage options in rooms might enhance longer stays!!! A quieter atmosphere in dining areas could elevate the experience!!!

    delicious breakfast
    great view

Staying at royal george was amazing! The breakfast spread was fabulous, with yogurt, fresh berries, and granola, made my morning. The beautiful king room was super comfortable, and the view of the estuary with the sound of the tide was just perfect. Definitely a treat for dog owners.

    great location
    friendly staff
    comfy room
    dinner menu needs improvement
    heating issue

The location was fine, right on the waterfront, and the staff were super friendly! Breakfast was really good too. The room was comfy after we fixed the heating issue, on full blast lol. Appledore is a cute spot to explore the area, and bideford is just a few mins away.

The heating was way too hot at first, and we had a small issue with it, but it got sorted. The dinner menu could use a bit more excitement, it was kinda basic.

    Fine views and excellent service

I loved the really good views over the estuary from our Classic Triple Room. The staff was attentive and provided personalized service, especially during our dining experiences where the food quality exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for a pet-friendly place, this is also a bonus, as. A little more storage space in the room would enhance the experience.

The Beautiful King Room offers a fine freestanding bathtub that's perfect for unwinding after a long day. The room's layout maximizes space.

The room temperature tends to get quite warm, which might be uncomfortable during the summer months. The bathroom fan can be a bit noisy, potentially disrupting a peaceful soak in that lovely bathtub since it doesn't turn off separately from the lights. The availability of teas could use a bit of tweaking, as a morning cup of breakfast tea isn't an option here, which some may find disappointing.

The room was clean and comfy, with a super comfy bed, made sleep easy. The bathroom, especially the shower, was a highlight-really well done! It was a bit warm for our taste, though. It had everything we needed for a good stay.

    Charming, Charming, Charming

I marveled at the panoramic views of the Torridge estuary from my Beautiful King Room, where the sight of boats gliding by. The breakfast spread was to die for, with fresh yogurt, berry medley, and delicious granola that set the perfect tone for the day. Dining on the terrace while enjoying locally sourced seafood was a delight, with each bite celebrating the region's flavors.
